Even before they know the radical treatment that will be required, Carolyn and Jim fall into each other’s arms, weeping. “It’s going to be OK because God is in control,” they remind each other. But they both know that God’s OK may not be the same as theirs.

The death of a loved one. An eroding financial crisis. Divorce. Alzheimer’s. The aging process. We are all reeling from the physical, emotional, and spiritual side effects of the cancer of sin and its cruelty. The ultimate choice is Do we turn away from God--or run to Him?

When nothing is left, you still have God. When stripped of everything, God remains. Only God can make a real difference.
